The Shop

Cutting hair in Fairhaven since 2000

The Barbershop at Fairhaven has kept the same address in Bellingham’s historic brick district for a quarter century — 1010 Harris Ave #103, in the heart of Fairhaven.

Diane opened the shop on 7 March 2000 with two antique Emil Paidar chairs. Step inside now and it’s the early 1900s — oxblood walls, a checkerboard floor, antiques and old signs on every surface, and her own chair set in the front window.

There are some forty years of barbering behind Diane’s shears, and haircuts finish the old way — a hot-lather neck shave to close. Kids have left their first haircut with a certificate to mark the day.

The Barbers

Diane Phillips

Owner

A Miller Barber College graduate who has been barbering since 1983. She has cut a one-month-old’s first hair and given a 101-year-old gentleman his last haircut.

Andrew Leese

Barber

Whidbey Island born, came to Bellingham for Western in 2002 and started at the shop that year. He left in 2009 to ride a bicycle around the world with his brother — thirty countries, three years and three months. He is back in the chair.

Aaron Glenn

Barber

Trained at Paroba Barber College in Everett, then taught himself skin fades and the modern men’s styles on top of it. He joined the shop in July.
